Workouts aren’t easy to fit in being a busy dad. Kids, family commitments, a busy lifestyle and a slew of responsibilities take up most of our schedule. And while flexible work schedules enables some dads the benefit of a three day weekend, our work day seldom leaves us enough time for personal endeavours such as exercise and nutrition. Before kids, you were use to getting in a workout any time you wanted and most days of the week. After kids, your world changes and you find yourself working around your kids schedule to find an applicable time to workout. At the end of the day, we’re left repeating the gracious expression of the honorable Dr. Suess, ‘How did it get late so soon?’. While Seuss's famous quote may seem a little trite, us busy dads must admit its truth: where did time go? I get it. And I hear you- if only time stood still for us to accomplish the things we want to do and allowed some wiggle room for a break here and there. No need to drop everything you’re doing that’s important in your life to start a fitness routine, as this will only start a war inside of yourself. We just need be a little more creative!
The purpose of Midlife Fitness Project is to provide sustainable fitness for busy dads. A journey deconstructing solutions for internal conflicts in lives of fathers without much time.
